The return of Singapore to live before pandemic is nothing short of amazing. From being one of the worst hit regions in the world with two lockdowns to completely removing all travel restrictions, Singapore is ready to bounce back to the world stage.

A lot of it has to do with timely governmental intervention and public cooperation. Gyms, fitness centers and studios in Singapore complied with strict enforcement of COVID-19 rules.

While a number of gyms in Singapore did close down permanently, they were much lesser than the global rate of 20% liquidation of fitness centers due to the pandemic. Moreover, Singapore’s economy and employment rate bounced back to almost pre-pandemic levels as well.

According to several news sources, Singapore’s economy expanded at its fastest annual pace in more than a decade in 2021 as the country emerged from its worst recession on record, caused by the deep hit to activity from the coronavirus pandemic.

The reason for the island nation’s stellar rebound is its ingrained culture of innovation, trade and its vibrant service industry. Gymscanner’s quest to make Singapore its second home starts with this issue of Muscle by Gymscanner magazine.

The future editions of the magazine will continue to shine a spotlight on Singapore with our active gyms and trainers directory that will inform our users on who is up and running in Singapore, which will add more clarity for both our partners and users in Singapore.
